OTTAWA COUNTY, MI (WHTC) --

The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department has made an arrest in connection with a larceny from a motor vehicle committed early Monday morning in Port Sheldon Township.  A homeowner was awakened by his dogs.  Upon investigation, he saw a suspect vehicle leaving the scene and contacted the Sheriff’s Office.   Lieutenant Mark Bennett reports that two people were arrested during a traffic stop.  The vehicle was occupied by a 22-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman, both of Grand Haven Township.  When officers searched the vehicle they found property from at least three motor vehicle larcenies.  The property recovered is valued at nearly one thousand dollars and includes cash, sunglasses and electronics.  The suspects are in the Ottawa County Jail and are scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday.  Anyone having more information should contact the Sheriff’s department or Silent Observer.
