ALLEGAN, MI (WHTC) - The attorney representing Allegan Public Schools has asked a federal judge to reject an Order of Judgment made in a civil lawsuit against the district, the city of Allegan and the Allegan Police Department by a number of plaintiffs, including former state Representative Dave Agema of Grandville, claiming violation of First Amendment rights when a scheduled speech by controversial former terrorist Kamal Saleem was shut down by authorities two years ago. The district claimed that it wasn’t fully appraised of the out-of-court settlement that would award a total of 500 dollars to the plaintiffs. No judicial decision on the order has been made.
