
UNDATED (WHTC) -- A 19-year-old man is facing murder charges in the shooting death of Michigan State Trooper Paul Butterfield has now been identified. The MSP says Eric Knysz of Luther is charged with murder of an officer as well as three other crimes. He’ll face a mandatory no-parole sentence if convicted. The female in the incident has been identified as his wife, 20-year-old Sarah Knysz. She faces two charges related to driving away from the scene with him. Records show that Knyz does have a criminal record. He was injured in a shootout after killing Officer Butterfield and received non-life threatening injuries. Knyz is scheduled to appear in court Thursday.
