PORTAGE, MI (WHTC) - Portage school district officials are investigating reports that former Human Resources Director Patricia McGraw Koeze had been retained as a consultant for a Muskegon-based academy as early as this past June, even though she had been on the payroll of the Kalamazoo-area district until her resignation last week. Koeze discreetly became superintendent of WayPoint Academy on January 14, but didn’t quit Portage until a week later, and then stepped down from WayPoint last Thursday as details of the situation were reported. Koeze spent four years as West Ottawa’s superintendent before resigning in mid-2011; she was reportedly “the other woman” in an alleged extramarital affair that led to Portage Superintendent Ric Perry resigning under pressure.
