HOLLAND TWP., MI (WHTC) - One of two men that may have been behind a string of home burglaries in the Holland area this month is in custody, while the other is being sought. According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Detective Lieutenant Mark Bennett, a resident at an apartment unit in the area of 136th Avenue and Riley Street on Holland’s North Side spotted the suspects on Saturday evening taking items out of a neighboring residence and was able to describe the getaway vehicle. That vehicle was then seen at a home off of Beeline Road between Riley and Felch Street a short time later, and one of the men was apparently caught red-handed with some of the loot. A television set, electronic components and a gun taken from the earlier heist were recovered at the same time that the victim was telling dispatchers about the loss.
Tavale Robinson, a 19-year-old Holland man, was taken into custody, and remains held on 25 thousand dollars bond pending a pre-preliminary hearing on Friday in Holland District Court. Lieutenant Bennett added that investigators believe he could have been involved in four other robberies since Jannary 11th. The other suspect remains at large, and anyone with any information is asked to contact the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department or Silent Observer (877-88-SILENT, http://mosotips.com).
