
HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) -- The city of Holland is making a commitment to a safe community. City Manager Ryan Cotton sent out a press release stating the commitment anchors the community at large, supports the local economy and contributes to the vitality of the City. Any form of hate crime or bias that causes fear, intimidation or additional pain/suffering to not only a victim but the victim’s group will not be tolerated. Those involved in actions that go beyond “hate” and include the desire to deter or deny the free exercise or enjoyment of rights or privileges will be prosecuted to the full extent of the laws of the Constitution, the United States and the State of Michigan. The press release was approved by Mayor Dykstra, the City Manager, Ryan Cotton, Public Safety Chief Matt Messer and Human Relations Director Esther Fifelski.
