UNDATED (WHTC) -- Authorities are advising people to stay where they are if possible. If you do have to go out, dress in layers and make sure none of your skin is exposed to the elements as frostbite can happen quickly. Captain Lee Hoeksma of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department says driving conditions are difficult. He says visibility is poor and many secondary roads are filled with snow drifts and a challenge to drive on. Hoeksma says if you do have to travel, put your headlights on for safety and give yourself extra time to get where you’re going. A winter weather advisory is in effect through 8 tomorrow morning and a wind chill warning is in effect until 7 P.M. on Tuesday.
