HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - The trend to the abstract continues for Tulip Time’s official posters.
A panel of festival staffers and members of the Holland Area Arts Council tabbed “Resilience,” an acrylic painting of yellow tulips by Karin Nelson, as the symbol for the 80th annual renewal of Holland’s signature event. The abstract nature of the Wyoming, Michigan woman's work is in keeping with similar paintings that have been named as official winners in recent years. The official poster and other merchandise adorning this image are now available through the Tulip Time office and online at http://tuliptime.com.
Nelson’s entry beat out 19 other finalists for the honor, and all of which will be on display at the Arts Council studios off of 8th Street from April 25 through May 9th. Those runners-up will be vying for a “viewer’s choice” award, as selected by attendees to the festival, with the winner being named on Tulip Time’s final day of May 10th.
