HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - The unveiling of the official 2013 Tulip Time Poster came on Thursday evening in a ceremony at Evergreen Commons. "Clothed in Splendor" was the work of Maggie Schultz of Grand Haven, and was her first effort in abstracting painting, as her family admitted that the tulips had a "psychedelic" look to them. Schultz said her work's name came from the Coat of Many Colors adorned by Joseph in Biblical times.

The winning creation was selected by officials of both the festival and the Holland Area Arts Council from 20 finalists culled from a juried panel late last year, and will adorn various prints and merchandise that will be available through the Tulip Time office and online, starting on Monday.

The other 19 hopefuls will be put on display at various venues in the downtown area from late April through the end of the festival on May 11, and visitors can cast ballots for their favorites in the “Viewers’ Choice” competition.
