LANSING, MI (WHTC) - Unemployment rose along the Lakeshore in February. In the latest monthly numbers from the Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Labor, joblessness in Ottawa County stood at 6.2 percent, up a half point from January, but a full percentage point below February of 2013. In Allegan County, the 7.3 percent mark was up six tenths from January, but down three tenths from a year ago. Statewide trends were similar, which department officials say was normal for the winter months.
