ZEELAND, MI (WHTC) - A 104-year-long education tradition will be ending in June. Officials of Beaverdam Christian School in Blendon Township say that their institution is closing at the conclusion of the 2012-13 academic year. A variety of reasons led to the late January decision to cease operations instead of merging with nearby Borculo Christian School, as had been considered last fall. Enrollment fell by a third, with only 40 total students in kindergarten through 8th grade this winter, as compared to 60 in 2011-12.
