ALLEGAN, MI (WHTC) - Some cost overruns in the ongoing conversion of the former Haworth seating plant on River Street in Allegan into a new county jail and sheriff’s headquarters should be taken care of during this afternoon’s county board meeting. Commissioners will be asked to approve increasing the project’s contingency fund from three percent to five percent of the project, around 780 thousand dollars, by transferring 312 grand from the excess property and liability fund. Most of the 17.8 million-dollar project is being funded through a 30-year bond sale.
