HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - Despite a soggy forecast, the 80th Tulip Time Festival begins its eight-day run in Holland today with featured events at Kollen Park, starting with a fun run, continuing with Kinderplaats, and ending with music and fireworks. The 49th Fiesta continues inside and outside of the Holland Civic Center, with a Carnival in the parking lot. Among other scheduled attractions today: Dutch Dancers will be performing among an Arts and Crafts Fair in Centennial Park, and there is a historic Dutch Trade Fair is at Windmill Island Gardens. Festival officials are confident that there will be plenty of the featured flowers blossoming during Holland’s annual signature event that begins an eight-day run today. Several million bulbs were planted in and around the Tulip City last fall, with variations designed to have staggered blooming schedules over the next few weeks. Officials say that advance ticket sales for featured attractions are doing well, besides two sold-out Bill Cosby performances on Thursday.
