COVERT, MI (WHTC) - Nuclear Regulatory Commission officials say that the current shutdown of the Palisades plant near Covert stemmed from a leak in a component cooling water system that grew to 35 gallons of non-radioactive water before operations were halted last Friday. The leak was first noticed a week earlier. The facility remains down pending repairs.
