After sixteen years in the Zeeland Public School district, Ellen Kontowicz will be retiring from her position as Principal at Quincy Elementary, effective the end of July. Kontowicz has been principal of the school since its opening in 2004. Before becoming principal of Quincy, she served as the principal of the district’s Early Childhood Center that housed all kindergarten students, early childhood special education and preschool.
"The students and staff have enriched my life," said Kontowicz in a press release, "I feel blessed to have spent the last sixteen years celebrating student learning at ZPS."
A plan to fill the position vacated by kontowicz has not yet been announced. I’m Claire Fodell reporting.
