MARCELLUS, MI (WHTC) - A 71-year-old South Haven man has succumbed to injuries sustained when he lost control of his motorcycle on a Cass County road two weeks ago. Jerry Hartsfield skidded off of M-40 north of Marcellus, with his machine flipping into a ditch. He wasn’t helmeted at the time, and had been treated at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo since the crash just before midnight on July 3rd. Sheriff’s deputies had initially thought that alcohol may have been a factor in the incident, but have since concluded that there was no liquor involved in the fatal wreck.
