SOUTH HAVEN, MI (WHTC/WKZO) - A Fennville man who was one of half a dozen drivers caught driving drunk in Van Buren County this weekend, will face multiple charges because he had his wife and four young children on board.
He was spotted late Saturday night by a Van Buren County Deputy and pulled over on Phoenix Road near the Blue Star Highway in South Haven for not wearing his seat belt. The Deputy smelled alcohol. The 29-year-old driver failed a dexterity test and was arrested on four counts of driving intoxicated with young children. The kids were released to their mother. She may face child endangerment charges after Child Protective Services investigates.
Many counties are putting out drunk driving patrols as we head into the Labor Day weekend.
