UNDATED (WHTC) -- A local State Representative has started the ball rolling in an effort to get police and fire employees the option of enrolling in the federal Social Security program. Lawmaker Amanda Price submitted a letter to Director David Behen of the Dept. of Technology, Management and Budget, requesting a modification to Michigan’s current agreement with the federal government.
Other state employees already have the option for the federal program. Price feels that the modification can help secure future retirees’ retirement income.
