UNDATED (WHTC) -- The American Red Cross of West Michigan issued some safety tips for this holiday weekend for safe travel, safe swimming and safe grilling. When traveling, the ARC reminds all to bring along emergencies supplies, let someone know your destination, route and ETA, and don’t drink and drive. To stay safe while swimming, remain in areas supervised by a lifeguard, obey warnings, and stay within arm’s reach of young children while they are in the water. For grilling, keep children and pets away from the grill, never add starter fluid after coals have been ignited and use long-handled utensils. For more tips and expert advice, the Red Cross has a series of mobile apps. To find them visit redcross.org/apps.
