JAMESTOWN, MI (WHTC) - A nine-year-old Hudsonville girl spent some time on a DeVos Children’s Hospital bed last night, but not for the reflexes of her father, things could have been worse.
According to deputies, 38-year-old George Bodbyl was driving his vehicle southbound on 8th Avenue in Jamestown Township just before 7:30 PM, and as he went past Riley Street, a northbound vehicle apparently tried to turn left just in front of him. Bodbyl swerved to avoid a collision, but in the process lost control, with the vehicle going off the roadway, into a ditch, and crashing into a culvert. Bodbyl and the other driver, identified only as a Nicholas Korelski, were not injured, while Bodbyl’s daughter Emma, who was properly restrained in the back seat, suffered minor ailments that required treatment. The crash remains under investigation.
