HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - The matter of limiting the number of unrelated adults in a single rental home to six to four will be discussed again by the Holland City Council during tonight’s work-study session. An ordinance amendment on the matter was tabled during last Wednesday’s meeting. The Neighborhood Improvement Committee and the Planning Commission have endorsed the reduction, mainly surrounding Hope College, saying that the new rules would help in cutting down on unruly tenants. Landlords counter that it would lead to more rental houses popping up to accommodate students not wishing to live on-campus, not less. The proposal could come up again for a vote next Wednesday.
