UNDATED (WHTC) -- Ottawa County Sheriff’s detectives have been investigating a threat incident that took place on Sept. 4th at the Coopersville Area Public Schools. A 14-year-old Coopersville suspect has been identified in what is now being termed a “swatting” case. Capt. Mark Bennett says the teen is an accomplice.
The investigation shows that the teen is an on-line acquaintance of the caller. Charges against the 14-year-old are pending and he remains with his parent in Coopersville. Investigators can confirm that this was a “swatting incident” and there were no physical threats on or around the school property. The investigation continues.
