
ALLEGAN, MI (WHTC) -- There was more excitement than usual at the Allegan County Jail on Friday afternoon. The Michigan State Police Bomb Squad was called to the facility to clear a suspicious backpack found in the northeast corner of the Jail. The backpack was reported at about 2:15 P.M. Allegan County Sheriff’s Capt. Mike Larsen said that after inspection, authorities found that the backpack met suspicious package protocol. The suspicious backpack was cleared at approximately 4:15 P.M. Walnut St. was closed to through traffic during the inspection period.
