UNDATED (WHTC) -- Sunday NFL action sees the Lions taking on the Vikings in Minnesota.  Broadcast on 1450 WHTC begins after the Hope Chucrh service, just after noon.

Sunday night football pits the New York Giants against the Philadel[phia Eagles on 1450 WHTC at 7:30 P.M.

Hope College scopred it's first touchdown in the game against Rockford on Saturday on a halfback pass.  The Flying Dutch would keep on scoring, finishing with a season-high 549 yards of total offense: 266 passing and 283 rushing and winning the game, 38-12, at Ray and Sue Smith Stadium on Saturday.  Next Saturday is Homecoming for Hope College.  The Dutchmen will host Oliver with broadcast on 92-7 the Van beginning at 1:40 P.M.

Throwback uniforms seemed a good fit for some throwback football for Homecoming weekend. The Lakers, dressed in baby blue and white from way back, turned back visiting Wayne State 17-3 Saturday night.  Quarterback Heath Parling had a night of good decisions, 17-of-28 passing for 256 yards and some key throws to Jamie Potts when third down was an issue. And in defensive games, third down is often an issue.  Next Saturday, the Lakers travel to Houghton to face Michigan Tech.  Broadcast on 1450 WHTC begins at noon.

The Redwings and Anaheim played a very physical game, with the Anaheim Ducks taking the game, 3-2.  Luke Glendining scored his first goal of the season, tying the game at 1-1 at 4:27 of the second period.  The go-ahead goal was Gustav Nyquist’s second in as many games. The Wings led 2-1 for only a moment though, as Matt Beleskey score just 1:20 later, making it a 2-2 tie which stood until the final moments of the game.Ryan Getzlaf broke the deadlock with his second goal of the game on a questionable no-call with 24 seconds left in regulation.  The Redwings host the Bruins on Wednesday with broadcast on 1450 WHTC beginning at 7:40 P.M.

The Blackhawks topped Buffalo Saturday night with four goals in the third period, winning 6-2 at the United Center.  The Calgary Flames visit the United Center on Wednesday for a game against the Hawks.
