GRAND HAVEN, MI (WHTC) - A 16-year-old Holland Township youth pled not guilty yesterday to open murder charges in Ottawa County Circuit Court. Victor Donaldson was bound over for trial last month in Holland District Court, accused of stabbing 18-year-old Ja’Paris Rodgers to death in an altercation along Riley Street on July 31st. Prosecutors say that this was a gang-related incident; Donaldson’s attorney claims that his client had no gang ties and that it was an act of self-defense. No trial date has been set before Judge Ed Post. Donaldson remains held in the Ottawa County Juvenile Detention facility, although he is being tried as an adult.
