ROBINSON TWP., MI (WHTC) - A Robinson Township firearms retailer known as a target of thieves over the years was victimized again overnight, but the perpetrator is in custody.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Christie Wendt, deputies were dispatched to Felix’s Marina and Gun Shop off of Green Street shortly after 1 AM after a burglar alarm went off. A suspect was seen fleeing from a broken window and hid in a wooded area near the store until discovered by canine units and arrested without incident. An unnamed 21-year-old Muskegon man is in the Ottawa County Jail awaiting arraignment in Grand Haven District Court. There was no word as to whether any weapons were taken in the incident.
Felix’s was noted for suffering thefts in several break-ins during 2008, but had no reported burglaries for more than 18 months until this incident.
