UNDATED (WHTC) - A pair of Hope College Women's athletes earned the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association's Athlete of the Week honors in their respective sports for games played through October 25.

WOMEN"S SOCCER

For the second time in her career, and the first time this season, Hope College goalie Kat Dickson picked up the MIAA Defensive Player of the Week, for her brilliant back-to-back shutout wins of 2-0 over Saint Mary's (Indiana) and 1-0 over Alma College. The Senior Dickson, who hails from Grayslake, IL (GrayslakeCentral HS), boasts the best goals-against average (0.35 in league play) of all MIAA goalies. By extending her no-goals streak to 495 minutes, Dickson has been a vital contributor to the success of the Flying Dutch who earned a share of the MIAA championship.

The Flyin Dutch Women's Soccer team hosts MIAA foe Kalamazoo at Van Andel Soccer Stadium on Saturday, November 1st. The contest begins at noon.

WOMEN'S SWIMMING AND DIVING

Hope College diver Sarah Sheridan qualified for the NCAA Division III regional championship by claiming victory this past Saturday in both the 1-meter and 3-meter dives in Hope's MIAA dual meet win over Alma College. Those wins helped the Richmond, IN (Richmond HS) native Sheridan gather this week's Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association's Athlete of the Week honors for the first time in her career.

The Junior Sheridan is coming off an impressive season last year where she was chosen the MIAA Most Valuable Diver. Hope continues their 2014 season with a dual meet at Olivet. Start time is 1p.m.
