UNDATED (WHTC)-With trick-or-treating right around the corner, parents have a hard enough time monitoring the snacks thier children accumulate during Halloween.  With 1 in 13 children diagnosed with a life threatening food allergy, Halloween can be a scary proposition. The Teal Pumpkin Project, a program developed by the Food Allergy Research and Education group or FARE, creates awareness about food allergies by suggesting folks distribute non-food treats and show a teal colored pumpkin-the teal color represents food allergy awareness. While food allergy awareness is key, FARE’s ultimate goal is seeking a cure for all 15 million Americans affected. For more information please go to foodallergy.org.
