GRAND HAVEN, MI (WHTC) - After initially expressing some second thoughts, a 28-year-old Holland Township man did agree to a deal with prosecutors yesterday.
Juan Casillas pleaded guilty to felonious assault, felon in possession of a firearm and felony firearm charges stemming from an August 24th incident outside of a motel on Holland’s North Side. He allegedly fired several rounds into the air during an argument with an ex-girlfriend that ended with her driving off, although she was not struck and no bullets hit her vehicle. Casillas was arrested a short time later after fleeing on foot to a nearby house, and the weapon used in the incident was recovered.
The plea deal is for reduced time behind bars. Casillas will be sentenced on December 29th to meth possession stemming from an unrelated incident.
