COOPERSVILLE, MI (WHTC) - A 36-year-old Coopersville man and his nine-year-old daughter were hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash in their hometown late yesterday afternoon. According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Kevin Allman, Benjamin Norbert was southbound on Eastmanville Street when he halted for a stop sign at Randall Street. He then pulled out into the path of the westbound vehicle of James Arends, who couldn’t avoid a broadside collision. Norbert and his daughter were taken to the Spectrum Health campus in downtown Grand Rapids for treatment, with the father initially listed in serious condition and the girl in stable condition. Arends, a 72-year-old Conklin man, was not hurt. All involved were buckled up as the crash remains under investigation.
