HAWTHORNE, NV (WHTC) - One of eight US Marines killed by a mortar blast during exercises at a Nevada training base had grown up in eastern Allegan County. Lance Corporal Joshua Taylor lived in both Martin and Otsego before moving to Ohio. The 21-year-old Taylor was among a group of Leathernecks training for deployment to Afghanistan when the mortar exploded in a firing tube on Monday night. The incident remains under investigation.
