SAUGATUCK (WHTC) - It’s New Year’s Eve and many venues along the Lakeshore will be hosting New Year’s gatherings tonight. If you live in the Saugatuck-Douglas area and are attending a holiday party in the area, you can get a free ride home through the Interurban Transit Service. Executive Director Phyllis Yff says the Interurban will offer free rides within its coverage area until 2 a.m. Yff says the free rides have been offered on New Year’s Eve for years as a community service and have proven to be very popular.
