HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - Holland City Council last night received the proposed Fiscal 2014 municipal budget from City Manager Ryan Cotton. The 20.3 million-dollar general fund spending plan is up about 600 thousand dollars from the 19.7 million-dollar financial blueprint in place for fiscal 2013. The spending plan includes an additional 100 thousand dollars for capital improvement projects, but the recommended tax levy would remain stable at 9.65 mills due to property values expected to increase slightly. Cotton and council members will hold discussions on the proposed budget tomorrow night and Thursday evening, with a formal public hearing and vote slated for May 1st.
