CHICAGO (WHTC) - Ridership on Amtrak’s Pere Marquette line between Grand Rapids and Chicago, which makes stops twice daily in Holland, were reportedly down last month as compared to a year ago. More than 86 hundred passengers took the passenger train in March, which is about a thousand less than March of 2012. This continued a declining trend for the first half of fiscal 2013, as a two percent dip in tickets for this service to 49 thousand plus was cited. Amtrak officials didn’t point to any specific factors as to why there were fewer riders.
