SPRING LAKE, MI (WHTC) - Charges may be filed in a two-vehicle, head-on crash in a Spring Lake Township subdivision this morning. Witnesses claim that a car driven by an unnamed 44-year-old local man had struck several mailboxes on Lake Avenue before speeding up and smashing into a minivan on Beech Drive west of Fruitport Road. He and the other driver, 47-year-old Mary Thornsen of Spring Lake Township, are in stable condition at area hospitals. Alcohol is apparently a factor.
