HOLLAND (WHTC) -- The city of Holland has a summer program for at risk youths. Youth Connections, in conjunction with Escape Ministries, is working to get youths between 14 and 17 years of age something to do during the summer and hopefully, avoid being recruited as gang members. The city has pledged 10-thousand dollars with the hope of private donations to cover five thousand dollars of the amount. City Manager Ryan Cotton says just one donor, who wishes to remain anonymous, has pledged that amount and more. The generous donation will allow the city to give jobs to twice as many youths as was originally planned. Anyone wishing to apply should contact Escape Ministries at 796-0538. Their office is located on 32nd St just off of Lincoln Avenue in Holland.
