WEST OLIVE, MI (WHTC) - Ottawa County Commissioners were told during yesterday’s meeting that about three million dollars of public infrastructure damage was done by torrential rains last month that caused massive flooding of the Grand River. That estimate came following inspections by local, state and federal officials, and didn’t include private residential and commercial property damage. In neighboring Kent County, the total estimate was over 10.6 million dollars The county is seeking federal disaster relief funds to help pay for repairs; the last time such aid from Washington came was after the torrential rains that struck in June of 2008.
