UNDATED (WHTC) -- The Michigan Department of Natural Resources wants to remind off-road vehicle enthusiasts to ride safely and legally this summer. Lt. Andrew Turner, who leads the DNR’s recreation safety program has some tips and guidelines for O-R-V riders: As with any vehicle, do not drink and drive, know your vehicle by studying the owner’s manual, in case of a breakdown. Also, the change in Michigan law regarding helmets for motorcycle riders does NOT apply to O-R-V riders. You’ll get a ticket if you aren’t wearing one. Know your trail, study the map for where you are riding and become familiar with where the sharp curves are located.
