HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - Thousands came to various spots along the Lakeshore last night to view fireworks displays under near perfect conditions to end a relatively safe and quiet Independence Day. The biggest crowds flocked around Kollen Park in Holland and Waterfront Stadium in Grand Haven. There were no reports of any serious injury crashes, nor were there any apparent major violations of new fireworks and noise ordinances.

One Lakeshore community is continuing its holiday activities while the rest are recovering from yesterday’s festivities. It’s the second day of a four-day celebration at South Park in Dorr, with a concert by the Williams Family Bluegrass Band at 7:30 PM, followed by a 10:30 PM Chinese Sky Lantern Launch. An unrelated event is at 1 PM with the Fox Fire Pullers Tractor Pull in the area of 144th Avenue and 22nd Street
