WEST OLIVE, MI (WHTC) - Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department officials are going over procedures for prisoner transfer from courthouses to the county jail after a 17-year-old man was left locked up in a holding cell overnight at the Hudsonville District Court building last Thursday. The unnamed teen had been ordered to serve a brief sentence in the jail for a probation violation, but a court bailiff apparently left for the day without telling deputies about the prisoner. The man had access to facilities and running water at the holding cell before being transferred to the jail the next morning without incident; he has since served his time behind bars.
