HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) -- The City Manager Ryan Cotton recommended to the City Council to approve a contract with Elzinga & Volkers for the DeZwaan Windmill Renovation. Cotton also talked about funding for the project, which is coming from many sources. City funds include spending from the 2013 fiscal year of 88-thousand dollars, which has already been spent, 25-thousand dollars from the City Legacy Fund, which comes from the sale of city property and various fundraising donations and challenge grants. The Council approved the contract and work is expected to get started in September with the goal of completion by Spring of 2015 for the 50th Anniversary of Windmill Island Gardens.
