WAYLAND, MI (WHTC) - The lucrative black market for metals in catalytic converters is apparently the motive for a string of thefts from parked vehicles in public park-and-ride lots along US-131 in eastern Allegan County. Some vehicles were victimized in the area of M-222 and the highway west of Martin last week. Last Friday, between 7:30 AM and 5 PM, several vehicles had their pollution-fighting apparatus taken from the lots off of 142nd Avenue in Dorr and 129th Avenue in Bradley. No suspects are in custody, and anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in those locations are asked to contact the state police post in Wayland at 269-729-2213.
