UNDATED (WHTC) -- If it’s September it must be the start of hunting season. The Youth Waterfowl Hunting event takes place today and tomorrow for those ages 15 and younger. The small game season opens on Sunday, which includes ruffed grouse, squirrel and rabbit. Fall turkey season begins on Sunday as well. Next Saturday, September 21st, is the start of woodcock season. The DNR reminds hunters to make sure they know the bag limits and shooting hours of the species they are hunting. That information can be found in the 2013 Hunting and Trapping Digest.
