HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - The 48th annual Hope College/Holland Community Day is on Saturday, with a picnic and various activities at Windmill Island Gardens, beginning at 11 AM. At 1:30 PM, it is Hope’s home football opener versus Millikin, as the former Holland Municipal Stadium will be rededicated as the Ray and Sue Smith Stadium, while the road heading into Hope’s sports complex and Smallenburg Park will be named Soren Wolff Way. The athletic day ends with a 7 PM Hope women’s soccer match versus Trine at Van Andel Stadium.

However, there’s more than just fun and games on tap on this Community Day. The gallery of the DePree Art Center will feature an Art for Commerce exhibition, while the Hope theatre department welcomes the Milagro Theatre of Portland, Oregon for a bilingual Frida un Retablo production at the DeWitt Center. Both of these events are free to the public.
