HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) -- The 2013 Firefighter of the Year is Captain Chris Tinney. Public Safety Chief Matt Messer recently announced the selection of Tinney by his peers and subordinates for the prestigious Award. Tinney says his selection honors and humbles him. Captain Tinney began his career with the city of Holland in 2000. He was appointed as Captain of Fire Operations in January of 2011 when the Fire Department merged with the Police Department, becoming the Holland Department of Public Safety.
