UNDATED (WHTC) -- An Arctic blast is headed to the Lakeshore and the national weather service has issued a wind chill watch, which is in effect from late Sunday night through Tuesday afternoon bringing the possibility of wind chills between 20 and 30 below. The American Red Cross urges everyone to stay warm but stay safe. Kelly Hudson says you should dress in several layers and don't forget the gloves and something to cover your head. Also, please don’t forget about outside pets. If they can’t come inside, make sure they have enough shelter to stay warm and can get to unfrozen water. Frozen pipes can be a cause of major damage to your home. To keep pipes from freezing, turn faucets to a trickle and open cabinet doors in your kitchen and bathrooms so that warm air can circulate. Avoid fires by using generators correctly and don’t leave space heaters or any other heat source unattended.
