HOLLAND (WHTC) - The owners of Century Lanes and Creekside Restaurant and Bar say it could be several weeks before they are able to reopen as cleanup from Tuesday’s fire continues. Phil Huffman says repair work on the kitchen, where the blaze began, has not started, as Holland officials are still trying to determine what caused the fire in the first place. Huffman says in addition to a new kitchen, ceiling tiles, insulation, carpeting and duct work have to be replaced throughout the entire building because of smoke damage. Twenty-two seasonal employees are out of work right now while cleanup takes place. The company cleaning up the establishment has offered to hire these workers on a temporary basis, but Huffman says he was counseled not to do so for liability reasons. You can get updates on the cleanup and when Century Lanes might reopen either on its website or on its Facebook page.
