PARK TWP., MI (WHTC) - The West Michigan Airport Authority board has not one, but two local units of government asking to admission after the trustees of both Holland and Zeeland townships approved resolutions last week. The Holland Township vote was publicized beforehand, but Allegan County Commissioner Jim Storey of Holland, who represents his county as an Ex-Officio member of the airport board, admitted that he didn’t know that Zeeland Township had also endorsed admission before he was told by that township’s manager late last week of the move. Voters in both townships need to approve one tenth of a mill levy requests on the May 7th ballot before the two townships can join the cities of Holland and Zeeland, along with Park Township, in the authority that operates West Michigan Regional Airport.
