HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – For the second time in 11 days, a late night drop at a Holland-area bank was the target of a robbery.

According to Holland Public Safety Captain Bob Buursma, an unnamed 21-year-old Holland woman was depositing money from a local gas station that she is a clerk at into the overnight drop box at the Macatawa Bank branch at the intersection of 16th Street and Waverly Road just before 11 PM on Friday evening. A black man, about six feet tall, wearing a black hoodie and tan pants, with a bandana covering his face, approached the victim, grabbed the money bag out of the deposit box before it fell securely into the bank building, and fled on foot towards the Holland Heights neighborhood. No weapon was seen or implied, and the victim was unhurt. A canine unit was unable to establish a solid scent once the suspect ran into a nearby apartment complex. Images from the bank's surveillance video indicates that a possible accomplice, a heavy-set mail wearing a dark-colored t-shirt, arrived on the crime scene at the same time as the suspect.

On May 21, a similar type of robbery took place at the Macatawa Bank branch off of Lakewood Boulevard on Holland's North Side. The suspect in that incident was described as a black male with a thin build, between 5-7 and 5-11. wearing a grey hoodie with an orange bandana over his face. It was not immediately known if these two incidents are related.

No suspects are in custody in either robbery, and anyone with any information is asked to contact Silent Observer (877-88-SILENT; http://mosotips.com).
