HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) - Experts who said that motorists wouldn’t be paying four dollars a gallon for gasoline this spring are still technically correct, although this morning’s per-gallon average of $3.99 in the weekly survey of Holland area stations is virtually at that plateau. It’s four pennies more than last Friday, but 29 cents below what was on marquees at this time in 2013. Triple-A’s daily polling had marks of $3.66 nationally and $3.92 statewide. Yesterday's spike may be attributed to a "dive" in supply at refineries in the Midwest, according to Gas Buddy-dot-com's Patrick DeHaan.
